Since I have the opportunity to hang around the coffee shop all day ,reading copious amounts and swilling caffeine its only fair I turn you on to a few favorite reads.

Just Finished “South of Broad” by Pat Conroy (Thanks Tonya), may be Conroys best work, the pages flew by. If you have any beach time left take this one along.

“Where Peachtree meets Sweet Auburn” by Gary Pomerantz, a political history of Atlanta from the Civil War forward. If you are a history or politics junkie this is a great read. If you want to understand the Atlanta region better this is a good place to start.

“A Whole New Mind” by Dan Pink, Pink also wrote “Free Agent Nation” If you want to get your head around the growth of the entreprenuerial creative economy, these books will give you lots of ideas to ponder and concrete ways to increase your creativity (...

Not so long ago many Norcrossians thought the future of the city lie in building a wall on Buford Hwy to hold back the waves of change. Fortunately for the city and Southwest Gwinnett a new vision for East Norcross (Buford Hwy to I-85) is taking root. We now see East Norcross emerging as a dynamic, creative, urban environment. A place where people of all ages, incomes, and ethnicities work together to build a safe and prosperous community. A sustainable, walkable community less dependent on automobiles.

How will we achieve this grand vision? Already the building blocks are in place. The creation of the Gwinnett Village CID and Gwinnett Village Community Alliance was the catalyst for change.
